The Beginning of Surfing

• Surfing is a very old sport that started over
  3,000 years ago in the Polynesian Islands.
• Originally an easy way for fisherman to return to
  shore.
• Europeans first discovered surfing in the 1700s
  when Captain Cook landed in Tahiti.

• Surfing today has become quite popular and had
  some huge modifications to add to the fun.
• Boards are now made of fiberglass and have many
  knew innovations for control and excitement.
• Pros like Kelly Slater are becoming idols for
  many kids out there who have the passion for this
  great sport.
