3Important to Revisit our Faith over and over!
- (1 Cor 151-2) Moreover, brethren, I declare
unto you the gospel which I preached unto you,
which also ye have received, and wherein ye
stand By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in
memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have
believed in vain.
4Except a man be born again, he cannot see the
kingdom of God.
- Nicodemus struggled with this idea
- Like many he was carnal minded
- He asked, How can a man be born when he is old?
Can he enter the second time into his mothers
womb and be born? - He didnt understand the concept of being born
again.
5Jesus answer
- (vs. 5) Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except
a man be born of water and of the spirit, he
cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6Jesus answer
- (vs. 6-7) That which is born of flesh is flesh
and that which is born of Spirit is spirit.
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born
again. - Born of Flesh - reference to what Nicodemus
asked. - Born of Spirit reference to the rebirth that
Christ was speaking of.
7How are we born again?
- Jesus said, Except a man be born of water and of
spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. - Born of two agents
- Mother Water
- Father Spirit
- Flesh Spiritual

God depends on us completing the conditions that
follow - Shows that there is something that God wants us
to do.

- Greek (tis) an enclitic indefinite pronoun
some or anyone. - Being born again is for all Male or Female
- (Gal 328) There is neither Jew nor Greek, there
is neither bond nor free, there is neither male
nor female for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

- All can be saved if we obey Christ
- (Heb 59) And being made perfect, he became the
author of eternal salvation unto all them that
obey him.

father, but by extension of the mother)
figuratively to regenerate. - Two agents for procreation Natural Law
- Christ gives two agents in the next few words of
this verse Spiritual Law
15Must be Reborn Why?
- Not just because Christ commanded it Theres a
logical reason for our need of being reborn.
16We have all Sinned
- (Rom 223) For all have sinned, and come short
of the glory of God. - (1 John 110) If we say that we have not sinned,
we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
17Sin Spiritual Death
- (Rom 623) For the wages of sin is death but
the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus
Christ our Lord. - (1 Tim56) She that liveth in pleasure is dead
while she liveth. - Dead (Spiritually) while she lives (Physically)

agent will cause us to be reborn.

- Holy Spirit Baptism is never used to get one into
the Body of Christ - Not even Cornelius
- Water baptism (Acts 1047) Can any man forbid
water, that these should not be baptized, which
have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

- (Eph 45) One Lord, one faith, one baptism
- What baptism is it?
- Water
- The Ephesians (Acts 195) When they heard
this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord
Jesus.
32What does it mean to be Born of Spirit?
- (John 663) It is the spirit that quickeneth
the flesh profiteth nothing the words that I
speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are
life. - The words of Christ are Spirit
- We are reborn by his words
33What does it mean to be Born of Spirit?
- (1 Peter 123) Being born again, not of
corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the
word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
34Except a man be born of water and spirit, he
cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
