3The different steps
- Actions at LAL
- Cleaning of all the coupler pair assembly parts
using the cleaning procedure for the TTF-III - Assembly of the coupler pair on the test box
- Leek test inside of the clean room
- Fill couplers part with nitrogen (1 bar)
- Assemble the waveguide transition of each
coupler - Low RF measurements
- Do the packaging and send to KEK
- Actions at KEK
- Reception and external visual inspection
- Vacuum arrangement connection and gauges
connection - Simultaneous baking pumping of the residual
gases - Pumping down using turbo-molecular pumps one
pump for the warm parts and one pump for the
cold parts - Connection to the wave guide network
- Conditioning of the coupler (KEKLAL staff)

4The conditioning procedure
The target is to reach 1 MW for 400 µs pulses and
0.5 MW for 1300 µs pulses (as for TTF-III
couplers). Then, 2 MW RF test have to be
discussed.

5- STF-BL cavity-group meeting July 14th, 2008 (at
1500 Fifth floor) - Presentation and discussion about
- LAL coupler activities (last results)
- LAL/KEK TTF-V conditioning test
Thank you
