2Confidence to Enter the Holiest by the Blood of
Jesus
3Now the Main Point Is This (81-13)
- We have such a high priest who is seated at the
right hand of the throne of the Majesty in
heaven - Minister in the true tabernacle which the Lord
set up, not man - Not as priests of Levi who serve a copy and
shadow of the heavenly things (Ex. 2540)
4Now the Main Point Is This (81-13)
- New covenant, better promises God will remember
sins no more - The 1st covenant is obsolete was ready to
vanish away (70 A.D.)
5The Problem with the Earthly Tabernacle 91-10
- Vs. 8 The way into the Holiest was not yet open
while the first tabernacle stood - Vs. 9 those symbols could never perfect the
worshipers conscience
6Differences in Jesus Ministry 911-14
- He entered the Holiest only once
- He entered with His own blood, not that of
animals securing eternal redemption - The blood of animals purified the flesh the
blood of Christ purifies the conscience
7The Importance of the Blood 915-28
- Sealed a new covenant
- Redeemed those under the 1st covenant
- The only way a covenant is made with God we both
touch blood - With His own blood He appears in the presence of
God on our behalf - He need only offer once will appear a second
time to save those who eagerly wait for Him
8Perfecting the Worshipers101-18
- Since the priests stand daily, offering
repeatedly, there was still a consciousness of
sins - Jesus perfectly fulfilled Gods will by offering
His body He offered sat down - Perfected for all time those being sanctified
- Fulfilling Gods will a 2nd covenant, giving
sanctification once for all time.
9Therefore!1019-31
- We have confidence to enter the Holiest by the
blood of Jesus - A new living way, the curtain of His flesh
10Since We Have a Great High Priest, Let us
- DRAW NEAR (description of conversion)
- With a true heart
- In full assurance of faith
- With hearts sprinkled clean from an evil
conscience (touched blood with the Lord) - Our bodies washed with pure water
11Since We Have a Great High Priest, Let us
- HOLD FAST
- The confession of our hope (commitment)
- Without wavering because He is faithful who
promised
12Since We Have a Great High Priest, Let us
- CONSIDER ONE ANOTHER
- How to stir up to love good works
- Not neglecting to meet together
- Encouraging one another all the more
- The Day is drawing near!
13For if we Go On Sinning Deliberately
- No longer remains a sacrifice for sins
- What does remain
- a fearful expectation of judgment
- Fury of fire that will consume the adversaries
- A worse punishment than death without mercy
- The Lord will judge His people
14It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of
the living God
