• ArcGIS has several pre-designed templates
• If you make the same kind of map over and over
  again you can save your own template

Adding XY Data

• X Y data from a text file can be displayed in a
  map

Adding other graphics

• Typical drawing tools
• Lines, boxes, text
• Graphics do not scale with the map
• If you zoom in a box that bounds some feature
  will likely not bound it correctly.
• It is sized relative to the screen and not the
  actual map data
