2SCOPE
The North of Portugal and Galicia Euro-region
geographical peripheral situation in Europe and
moreover the negative effect of the border,
generate problematic issues of isolation, which
in turn imply its well-being indicators are below
the average levels of European Union The food
industry in this Euro-region is the one of the
main socioeconomic sectors, although it is
characterized by atomization, heterogeneity, few
knowledge-transfer capacity, low competitiveness
and limited innovation aptitude which turns into
a great hobble to get significant development

6Challenge
The challenge is the development of embedded
network relations between regional food sector
stakeholders, integrating the existing
capacities, allowing to establish a joint space
and defining a RDI joint strategy This space
will allow to profit from the opportunities for
the sustainable development, competitiveness and
internationalization of food sector through
innovation capacity increase with the consequent
social well-being improvement
