learning as a systematic process under your
control.
  • There are three main components Skill, Will, and
    Self-regulation
  • Skill may be from prior knowledge or new
    learning and adaptation
  • Will to put knowledge into practice, to set
    goals, to use the strategies necessary to
    succeed, and believe in your ability
  • Self-regulation is managing your time,
    monitoring your learning, and evaluating the
    result.

  • This is the way you acquire, process, and retain
    information
  • Monitor what time of day is best for you
  • What study strategies work best for you?
  • Where do you study best?
  • Do you better alone or in a group?
  • Do you know if you are a visual, auditory, or
    kinesthetic learner?

and sustains behavior toward a particular goal
  • Influences your goals, your self-efficacy, and
    your level of effort
  • Goals should be challenging but realistic
  • Self-efficacy is the belief in your ability to be
    successful
  • You control your level of effort
