What are you doing? You are saving water! This
urinal uses no water. Conventional urinals use 5
liters of potable water per flush.
Why doesnt it smell? A special blocking liquid
made from plant oil prevents odour exchange with
the sewer
How much water will we save? 650 m3/year will be
saved with these 11 new water-free urinals.
IHE uses a total of 3800 m3/yr, so this is a
reduction of 17.
What is the bigger picture? Urine can be used as
a nitrogen-rich fertilizer. This is the ecosan
approach of closing the loop.
