Introduction

• This guide is to the Tudors. Henry the eighth is
  a famous tudor as he had six wives, and made a
  new church (the church of England.) He always
  wanted a son to become King after him. Henry
  divorced two of his wives, beheaded two, one died
  and the last one outlived him.

Catherine of Aragon.

• His first wife was Catherine of Aragon. She was
  supposed to marry Henry's older brother Arthur
  but he died shortly after they married, so, to
  keep the peace with Spain Henry married her.

Anne Boleyon

• Anne Boleyon was Henrys second wife. She is one
  of the most famous queens in English history,
  though she ruled for just three years.  secretly
  engaged to Henry Percy.  She also entered the
  service of Katharine of Aragon.

Jane Seymour.

• Jane Seymour was the first wife of Henry to give
  birth to a son, king Edward the 6th . It is said
  that he loved Jane the best of all his wives. She
  died shortly after giving birth to Edward.

Anne of Cleaves

• Anne of Cleaves was Henry's fourth wife. She got
  divorced after only a few months. Henry sent out
  a artist to paint a portrait of any beautiful
  women. He painted Anne and showed the king. When
  Henry met Anne, he thought she was ugly.

Catherine Howard

• Catherine Howard was Henrys fifth wife, she was
  beheaded for treason.

Katherine Parr

• Kathryn Parr was Henrys six and final wife. She
  was more of a nurse than a wife, as Henry was ill
  and getting old. She outlived Henry.

Why did Henry have six wives?

• Henry had six wives because he wanted a son, or
  some of his wives he just didnt like, such as
  Anne of Cleaves!

What did Henry like to do?

• Henry loved most sports he played tennis, did
  jousting, danced, wrote poetry and loved to hunt.
  Henry was a very sporty man and lots of women
  liked him for his talents.

Women's Clothing

• Fashion, for women, was a long coloured dress
  either to your ankles or scraping along the
  floor. Women would always cover their hair with a
  headband and a hat.

Mens Clothing

• Mens fashion was a short, colourful robe, the
  rich men would get them incrusted with jewels.
