  meaning a bondservant as someone who is a
  voluntary slave for a master, even though the
  slaves master has released them from their
  indentured status
• They are free to leave but have chosen to stay
• To indicate this a slave wore the family insignia
  on their skin

The Cup Of The Will

• This is the Cup of the Will
• This cup is the symbolic cup that was heavy upon
  Jesus when he was praying on the Mt. of Olives
• This cup symbolizes that I have gladly accept
  Gods will in my life, and though difficulties
  arise, I will say Gods will be done.
• Luke 22.42- Father, if you are willing take this
  cup from menot my will, but yours be done.

The Star of David

• Affectionately known as the Jew Bow
• This is the emblem of the nation of Israel
• A sign of a covenant between God and Jacob, who
  God called Israel
• And Israel wrestled with God until God blessed
  him
• We also have a covenant between God and us, and
  God will bless us
• Jer. 29.11

The Sacred Heart of Christ

• A symbol often seen in classic catholic paintings
  and artwork
• The sacred heart of Christ, the heart that was
  exchanged for ours
• Our hearts were black with sin, and through
  Christs work on the cross for us, we have been
  given a heart transplant

The Dove Of The Holy Spirit

• The dove is first introduced at the baptism of
  Jesus
• When Jesus was baptized John the Baptist gave
  this testimony
• I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove
  and remain on him.
• When we become believers in Jesus Christ, Christ
  comes into our lives and the Holy Spirit dwells
  also with us, accomplishing Gods will in our
  lives

The Phoenix, The Sword and The Rose

• The Rose of Sharon- an affectionate name for
  Jehovah
• Sharon- a pastureland where God promises His
  people will find rest (Isa 65.10)
• The Sword- the Word of God which penetrates the
  heart of people (Heb 4.12)
• The Phoenix- a Crusader symbol taken from myth.
  When the phoenix died it burst into flames and
  from its ashes new life emerged, our old self was
  burned at the cross, and Christ gave us new life
  from his death
• Therefore, if anyone is in Christ he is a new
  creation, the old has gone and the new has come-
  2 Corinthians 5.17

Tattoo Rules

• 1. Ink is my way of expressing my devotion to my
  calling as a Christian
• 2. Ink is often linked to a stereotype that is
  often negative, but if the tattoos are for your
  own interest then the stereotypes should not
  offend
• 3. I got tattoos for my own devotion to Christ
  and Biblical principles, not to express my
  freedom from Christian legalism
• 4. Ink is to be done from a personal perspective,
  demonstrated by clear conscience between you and
  God
• 5. Acknowledge that people might be offended
  by your ink, with this in mind keep them covered
  when around them
• 6. If mom and dad say no, the answer
  is..NO!
• 7. If you live on your own, then whatever, but
  if your parents are still uncertain of their
  opinion on your tats, then when in their presence
  keep them covered
• 8. Do not do it because I do. Make sure the
  commitment is between you and God.
• 9. Most importantly put some thought into them,
  if you decide to get them.
• 10. Remember, they are permanent
• 11. Under no circumstance will I go with you to
  the tattoo parlor
