Title: Interesting and Effective LEADS
1Interesting and Effective LEADS
2Boring Ice-skating is my favorite sport, and I
want to tell you about it.
- Better It is ten degrees below zero, and the
river is frozen a foot thick. It makes snapping
sounds like the limbs of trees crackling. A lone
figure glides along the black ice and moves
toward the city. The only sound is the scraping
of each blade as it bites into the river. That
is me doing what I love best, ice-skating.
3 Boring The human brain is a complex organ.
- Better It sees stars, and it dreams of
eternity. It hears birds, and it makes music.
It smells certain foods, and it feels nostalgic
for home. It touches tools, and it can transform
the Earth. But if deprived of these senses, the
human brain withers and dies.
4In this paper, I will attempt to answer the
question why history is important.
- Better What is the point of studying history?
Who cares what happened a long time ago? After
all, arent all the people in these books dead?
I asked myself all of these questions, and I came
to realize why history is so important to the
present and the future.
5Many people have been affected by gentrification,
the process of rehabilitating old neighborhoods
by people with money which causes prices to go up
and the poorer residents to have to leave.
- Better I never thought they would kick my
grandmother out. Even after the stores started
opening and the fancy restaurants came after
that, I still always believed my grandmother
could stay. I didnt know the horror of
gentrification, the process of rehabilitating old
neighborhoods by people with money which causes
prices to go up and the poorer residents to have
to leave. Now I do.
6Boring Flies are an important member of the
animal kingdom.
- Better Though we have been killing them for
many years and consider them a nuisance, folklore
exists that states that flies, with a little
sugar, taste very much like black raspberries.
7Boring Throughout history, it has been
individuals who dreamed big that have made
change.
- Better Goethe, a German philosopher, once said,
Dream no small dreams for they have no power to
move the hearts of men.
