On October 4, Mr. Lutz gave a presentation on
Liberia. He has never been there, but he did a
lot of research to tell us all about their
country, which is about the size of Ohio. Mr.
Lutz chose to present Liberia to us because we
are going to be paired up with a school there,
the Angeline Brisbane Memorial Academy. It is
located in their capital, Monrovia. Next week we
will write letters to the children of this school
and have them as pen-pals this school year.

30 Rice Bread from Liberia Ingredients 2 cups
rice, cooked and mashed 3 Tablespoons sugar 4
teaspoons baking powder ½ teaspoon salt 1½
bananas, mashed 2 eggs 1½ cups milk 1 cup
oil Procedure Mix together rice, sugar, baking
powder, and salt. Add bananas, eggs, milk, and
oil. Bake in a greased 9- by 12-inch pan at
375F for 45 minutes.
