What is the endocrine system?

• Endocrine system system of glands, each of
  which secretes a type of hormone to regulate the
  body

• Signals are passed through the blood to target
  cells or organs
• Hormones fit like a piece of a puzzle into the
  target cell.

What are the main features of the endocrine
system?

• Hormones molecule (protein or lipid) that is
  transported throughout the body through blood and
  stimulates organs to respond in certain ways

• Endocrine glands ductless glands that produce
  hormones
• Target cells cells that the hormones bind to in
  order to trigger a response

• Environment is always changing animals need a
  way to help them keep up with it.

• Respiratory System Can increase or decrease
  respiratory rate depending on CO2 levels in the
  brain
• Reproductive System Helps in the produce of
  sperm and egg (which are necessary for
  reproduction)
