- Data rates up to 9600 baud

- Databox are pre-programmed for basic data
applications - Ignition sense enabled (do not disable this or
you wont be able to turn the radio on!) - Emergency wake up
- Data PTT
- Flat Tx and Rx audio
8Databox Configurations
- Databox (or any mobile model) can be connected to
an external or internal modem - Dealer can buy a modem from any vendor and
connect it external to the Databox, via the audio
lines on the rear accessory connector - Dealer can buy a modem Expansion Head from a
Motorola Application Partner and connect it to
the front of the Databox, equivalent to where the
control head normally fits
9How to Turn the Databox On!
- The Databox doesnt have a control head, so how
do you turn it on? - By connecting ignition sense (pin 10) on
accessory connector to B - How do you programme the Databox?
- Connect ignition sense to B on the accessory
connector programming cable (RKN4083), or - Connect a spare control head to the radio
- The control head wont work, but the radio can be
turned on/off and programmed through the mic
socket (with RKN4081 or GTF374B)

option board - Expansion Head option board is a different shape
from the option board that fits inside the
transceiver (although the function can be the
same). - Both option boards connect to PROIS.

at any time (either in the Expansion Head or
inside the transceiver).

- For use with GM1280 and MPT Databox
- MAP27 software is not in the GM640 or GM660
- Radios need firmware version R02.00.17 or later
to use MAP27 - Fits on the front of the radio in place of the
control head - Control head can be fitted in remote mount
- Provides an interface between the radio and the
outside world - RS232 voltages
- Standard connectors
- 1 x 9-pin 1 x 25-pin D type connectors
- Telco connector to put GM1280 control head in
remote mount - Sold as an accessory through the distribution
centre and AAD.
