6Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.History of Kappa
Alpha Psi
- The Founders endured acts of racial hatred and
hostility and formulated this fraternity to
alleviate the feeling of isolation and raising
the sights of Black youth higher than they may
have otherwise realized. - Fashioning ACHIEVEMENT as its purpose, Kappa
Alpha Psi began uniting college men of culture,
patriotism and honor in a Bond of fraternity. - Since it's founding in 1911, the Fraternity has
never limited membership based on color, creed or
national origin. - KA? has over 125,000 members with 700

7Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.History of North

a coalition of chapters, located mainly in the
Midwest. As the Fraternity continued to grow, a

service its needs. - In 1920, Grand Keeper of the Exchequer, George F.
David, II proposed organizing the Fraternity into
Districts with a Director, appointed by the Grand
