• One way that Kibera is helping itself out of
  poverty is by running tours of the slums for
  interested tourists.
• What do you think about this?

What does this have to do with Pro-Poor Tours?

• Jamahl is able to attend school because of the
  money his father makes selling baskets to
  tourists that visit his home as part of the
  Pro-Poor Tours.
• All he needed was someone with the money to buy
  them

Your task

• You need to design a tour programme for the tour
  company to encourage tourists to go on the
  Pro-Poor Tour of the Kibera shanty town.

Your Pro-Poor Tour Programme should

• describe the types of things they will see
  (include pictures)
• describe the benefits that their visit could
  bring to the community of Kibera
• decide how you think any profits should be spent
  (think back to the starter) and include
  information about long term improvements that the
  tourists visit could bring.
