Financial Assistance

• Full Tuition Regardless of School
• 20K Scholarship Bonus
• Monthly Stipend of 2122 per month (22,281.00
  total per year)
• Books and academic fees
• to include medical insurance premiums while in
  school
• Army Officer Pay
• for remaining 6 weeks of each school year (4500)

Your financial assistance begins when you begin
school.

Your Obligation During Med School

• While attending school,
• your main focus is to be a dedicated full-time
  student!
• You will be required to serve on Active Duty as
  an Army Reserve Officer for six weeks each year
  as an intern in Army Medical Centers
• You will be paid for this time in the rank of
  Second Lieutenant
• The intent of this time is for you to learn the
  basics of Army Healthcare

Active Duty Training (ADTs)

• 1st year- Basic Officer Leadership Course (BOLC)
• 2nd year- School ADT or rotation at Army
  community hospital
• 3rd and 4th years- Clinical rotations at Army
  hospitals
• Any year- Research rotation at Walter Reed Army
  Institute of Research, Armed Forces Institute of
  Pathology, Uniformed Service University

Your Obligation After Medical School
After you complete medical school, you will be
assigned to an Army medical center, community
hospital, clinic or research laboratory in the
United States or abroad and receive full pay and
benefits as an Army Captain.
Your obligation is 1 year on active duty for each
year of sponsorship in either HPSP or residency,
whichever is greater (2 years Minimum)

• Largest GME program in the military
• 1414 doctors training in our in-house programs
  98 in Army sponsored civilian training
• All Specialties
• 11 teaching hospitals
• 68 residencies, 57 fellowships (25 of which are
  civilian affiliates)
• 29-32 of medical officers are in GME at any
  given time
• All programs accredited by Accreditation Council
  for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
• 64 of programs with 5yr accreditation 14 with
  4yr accreditation (civilian avg 3.7yr)
• Over 96 first time board pass rate

Eligibility

• Must be a citizen of the United States
• Must be qualified to hold an officer
  commissioning in the
• United States Army (Medically Morally)
• Must be enrolled or accepted to an accredited
  graduate program
• Basic Acceptance Criteria
• 3.2 GPA and 24 MCAT or higher

Selection Process

• Complete application packet
• Complete physical evaluation
• Appear before Selection Board (packet only)
• Accept Scholarship
• Commission as Second Lieutenant in USAR
