ABOUT

• The settlement in the area of current South
  Kazakh existed at the edge of 11th-12th
  centuries. There is a hypothesis about earlier
  formation of south kazakh. The idea is based on
  archeological excavations in which some burial
  places were found and specialists refer them to
  5th-6th centuries.
• For centuries south kazakh settlement was
  devastated by aggressive invaders. In early 13th
  century Genghis Khans army went through
  Sairamsky oasis which became a part of the
  territory belonging to the conquerors
  descendants. In 14th century Timur included it
  into his state as a result of successful military
  actions against Ak Horde and Golden Horde khans.

DEAN FOR STUDENTS

• Increase in the number of foreign students can be
  explained by the increasing popularity of our
  university among foreign nationals, which is
  probably associated with a marked increase in the
  quality of education and a significant
  improvement of material and technical base of the
  university. The sharp rise of foreign students in
  the last two years is associated with the
  intergovernmental agreement between Kazakhstan
  and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, which
  was signed during the official visit of the head
  of state Nursultan Nazarbayev in Afghanistan in
  2009.

RECTOR

• Seksenbayev Bakhytzhan Deribsaliyevich graduated
  in 1985 from the Medical Faculty of Alma- Ata
  State Medical Institute and worked as a surgeon
  in Road Hospital in Alma- Ata. Enrolling in post
  graduate courses of ASMI according to the
  specialty Surgery in 1988, he successfully
  graduated it in 1991 defending his Ph.D. thesis
  and worked until 1994 as an Assistant of Surgical
  Diseases Department of ASMI. In 1994, he was
  Acting Head of the Department of General Surgery
  at Shymkent State Medical Institute.
•  Enrolling in 1996 for doctorate of Research
  Center of Surgery named after Syzganov A.N., he
  successfully defended his doctoral thesis, and
  then, he was the head of Surgery Department of
  South Kazakhstan State Medical Academy.
