Installation

• Download the Cantera windows program installer
• (cantera-160r1.msi) from http//sourceforge.ne
  t/projects/cantera
• Download the Python windows program installer
• (python-2.4.2.msi) from http//www.python.org/
  2.4.2/
• Run the Cantera160r1.msi windows program
  installer
• Run the python-2.4.2.msi windows program installer

• After installing Cantera, the a folder named
  Cantera will be created

Installing Cantera-Python package

• Execute application file Cantera-1.6.0-win32-py2.
  4.exe

Execute this application file

Add Python Interpreter to the Path

• Cantera needs to know where to find the python
  interpreter since Cantera uses python to process
  .cti files
• To edit system search path, select system on
  the Control Panel
• Press Environment Variables button

Edit the PATH of Environment Variables

• Add C\Python24 (or wherever you installed
  python-2.4.1) to the PATH environment variable
  (user variable)
• Use a semicolon between paths

Add Cantera Toolbox on the Matlab Path

• Add this folder to the Matlab path
• c\Program Files\cantera\MATLAB\toolbox\canter
  a
• (Assuming Cantera is installed under Program
  Files in c drive)
• (How-to Directions on next couple of pages)

Set the Path in Matlab

• Choose Set Path. on the File Menu

Add this Cantera folder

Its done!!

• If you have installed everything correctly,
  Cantera should work just fine
• Run the demo or tutorials in MATLAB to test your
  installation
