Active Voice
  • Active means you are doing something
  • In Active Voice-the subject is the doer of the
    action.

  • Ryan threw the ball.

Passive Voice
  • Passive means that you are not doing anything
  • Passive Voice-subject is receiving the action
    (something is done to subject)

  • The ball was thrown by Ryan.

Change from Active to passive
  • 1.) Verb becomes the past participle
  • Threw was thrown
  • 2.) Subject goes to the object, object to subject
  • Ryan threw the ball.
