2Coming from Bucharest, the capital city of
Romania, at 176 km north, lies the municipality
of Brasov, the seat of the county with the same
name, first certified by documents in 1234.
The county of Brasov, lying in the central part
of Romania, within the Carpathian arc, covers a
surface of 5,351 sq. km, that is 3.2 of Romania,
boasting a most varied relief, from plains to
high mountain.
3The population counts over 500,000 inhabitants,
2.8 of Romanias population. It features nine
towns, the municipality of Brasov, with over
300,000 inhabitants, being its capital there are
43 communes, including 150 villages.
4- The County School Inspectorate is a local public
authority, subordinated to the Ministry of
Education, Research and Innovation. - The main aim is to implement at the local level
the educational policy of the Ministry.
5Main functions
- Coordinates the managerial activity of the county
pre-university school network. - Providing the qualified teaching staff and
personnel for the subordinate institutions. - Monitoring teaching staff and offering them
counseling and support. - Assessing the correct implementation of the
national curriculum. - Readjusting and adapting annually the educational
offer of the county schools to meet the demands
of the changing socio-economic realities. - To ensure, jointly with the local public
administration, the educational conditions as
well as the development of the material resources
in schools.
