18A TIME OF SHARING WITH GODS CHILDREN OF ALL AGES
19THE HOLY SCRIPTURE Isaiah 401-5 Comfort, O
comfort my people, says your God. Speak tenderly
to Jerusalem, and cry to her that she has served
her term, that her penalty is paid, that she has
received from the LORD's hand double for all her
sins.
20A voice cries out In the wilderness prepare the
way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a
highway for our God. Every valley shall be lifted
up, and every mountain and hill be made low the
uneven ground shall become level, and the rough
places a plain. Then the glory of the LORD shall
be revealed, and all people shall see it
together, for the mouth of the LORD has spoken.
21267 I HEARD THE BELLS ON CHRISTMAS DAY
22I Heard the Bells on Christmas DayTheir old
familiar carols play,And wild and sweet the
words repeatOf peace on earth, good will to
men. I thought how, as the day had come,The
belfries of all ChristendomHad rolled along the
unbroken songOf peace on earth, good will to
men.
23And in despair I bowed my head"There is no
peace on earth," I said,"For hate is strong and
mocks the songOf peace on earth, good will to
men."Then pealed the bells more loud and
deep"God is not dead, nor doth he sleepThe
wrong shall fail, the right prevail,With peace
on earth, good will to men."
24Till, ringing singing, on its way,The world
revolved from night to day,A voice, a chime, a
chant sublime,Of peace on earth, good will to
men!
25THE SERMON LOWERING THE MOUNTAIN AND RAISING THE
VALLEY Please See Sermon Outline Bayshore
Gardens Community Church Dr. Daniel Herlein
26LOVE CANNOT BE DEMANDED OR ARTIFICIALLY
INDUCED. God chose to come DOWN into our world
NOT TO DEMAND or artificially induce our love for
Him but, rather, to WIN our love by showing us
how much He FIRST loved us. He accomplished this
in a most unconventional way . . .
27Isaiah 23 Come, let us go up to the mountain of
the Lord However, we cannot climb UP the
mountain into our holy Gods presence because we
are sinful. So God chose to come DOWN to us.
28A re-read and new understanding of Isaiah
404 How God LOWERED the mountain and RAISED up
the valley.
29Jesus own people rejected Him as Messiah because
they didnt recognize Him for who He really
was. John 111-12 - He came unto His own, but
his own received Him not But to all who DID
receive Him, that is, those who believed in Him,
to those He gave the right to be called the
children of God.

32Philippians 25b-8 Christ Jesus, who, being in
very nature God, did not consider equality with
God, as something to be held on to. Instead, He
LOWERED Himself taking on the very form of a
servant, being made in human LIKENESS. And being
found in APPEARANCE as a man, He humbled himself
choosing to die on the cross to pay the price for
our sins.
33Christmas IS about God coming DOWN TO US and
God bringing us UP TO HIM.
34O Holy Child of Bethlehem, DESCEND ON US, we
pray. Cast out our sin and enter in, be born in
us today. We hear the Christmas angel the great
glad tidings tell. O COME TO US, ABIDE WITH
US, Our Lord, Emmanuel.
35The Pastoral Prayer and The Lords Prayer OUR
FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY
NAME. THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE, ON
EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. GIVE US THIS DAY OUR
DAILY BREAD, AND FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS AS WE
FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS AND LEAD US NOT INTO
TEMPTATION BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL. FOR THINE
IS THE KINGDOM, AND THE POWER, AND THE GLORY
FOREVER AMEN.

39THE CLOSING CHRISTMAS CAROL 251 IT CAME UPON
THE MIDNIGHT CLEAR
40It came upon the midnight clear, That glorious
song of old, From angels bending near the
earth, To touch their harps of gold Peace on the
earth, goodwill to men From heavens all gracious
King! The world in solemn stillness lay To hear
the angels sing.
41Still through the cloven skies they come, With
peaceful wings unfurled And still their heavenly
music floats O'er all the weary world Above its
sad and lowly plains They bend on hovering
wing, And ever o'er its Babel sounds The blessed
angels sing.
42O you beneath life's crushing load, Whose forms
are bending low, Who toil along the climbing
way With painful steps and slow Look now, for
glad and golden hours Come swiftly on the
wing Oh rest beside the weary road, And hear the
angels sing.
43For lo! the days are hastening on, By prophets
seen of old, When with the ever-circling
years Shall come the time foretold, When the new
heavn and earth shall own The Prince of Peace,
their King, And the whole world send back the
song Which now the angels sing.
44THE PASTORAL BENEDICTION Go forth from this
place as Gods elect and covenant people . .
