  • SOLIDARs vision is for everyone around the world
    to be able to live in dignity.

What is SOLIDAR?
  • A European network of NGOs and labour movement
    organisations.
  • SOLIDAR has 47 member organisations based in 25
    countries, 20 of which are in the EU.

What is SOLIDAR?
  • SOLIDAR promotes solidarity, equality and social
    justice in the fields of social affairs,
    international cooperation and education.
  • Works in alliance with trade unions and civil
    society organisations in Europe and worldwide.

Main aims
  • To work towards influencing EU and international
    policies in our fields of works.
  • To link together members to collaborate on common
    projects and learn from each other.
  • To promote the participation of civil society
    (citizens), from the developed and developing
    world, in decision-making processes.
  • Strengthen alliances with organisations committed
    to our common principles both at European and
    global level.

  • Created in 1948 under the name of International
    Workers Aid (IWA)
  • IWA changed its name to SOLIDAR in 1995 when it
    moved to Brussels
  • SOLIDAR celebrates its 60th Anniversary this year.
