• Read page 495.
• Although built by the French in the 1860s, the
  Suez Canal is currently owned by Egypt and earns
  them lots of money by charging ships tolls.
• It is called The highway to India
• It connects the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea.
• It saves thousands of miles for ships.
• With turmoil in the Egyptian government, who will
  gain control of the Suez Canal? Will they be
  friendly to the US?
