Title: Goal Setting

1
Goal Setting
  • the SMART way

(No Transcript)
3
Specific
  • A specific goal has a much greater chance of
being accomplished than a general goal.
  • EXAMPLE    A general goal would be, "Get in
shape." But a specific goal would say, "Join a
health club and workout 3 days a week."

4
Measurable
  • To determine if your goal is measurable, ask
questions such as, How much? How many? How will I
    know when it is accomplished?
  • EXAMPLE
  • a goal that cant be measured, I will be nicer
    to my siblings.
  • A measurable goal, I will spend 30 minutes a
day helping my sister with her homework.

5
Attainable
  • When you list your goals you build your
self-image. You see yourself as worthy of these
goals, and develop the traits and personality
that allow you to possess them.

6
Relevant
  • Ask your self, will this goal make a positive
difference in my life? Is this goal helping me
    progress?
  • EXAMPLE I will read 2 history books in the next
    month.

7
Time-bound
  • With no time frame tied to it there's no sense of
urgency. If you want to stop biting your nails,
when do you want to stop by? "Someday" won't
    work.
  • EXAMPLE I will raise my grades by the end of the
    quarter.
