7Constantines enemy was Maxentius, who wanted to
be Emperor.
8During the battle, Constantine saw a bright light
and the words, You Will Conquer, written in the
sky. Even though he was not a Christian,
Constantine believed it was Jesus speaking to him.
9Constantine became a Christian as a result of
that experience. He had the symbol, the Chi Rho,
engraved on the shields of all his soldiers.
10Constantine fought the battle against Maxentius,
confidently believing that the God of Jesus
Christ would give him the victory.

13Under Constantine, Christianity spread throughout
all the countries around the Mediterranean.
14Constantine made Christianity the official
religion of Rome. During the reign of
Constantine, Christianity not only became the
preferred religion, but other religions were
condemned.
15Even though Constantine had become a Christian
years before, he was not baptised until he was on
his deathbed.
16In the last fifty years, movies have been made
about the conversion of Constantine.
Coins minted when Constantine ruled Rome had his
face on them.
