• Atrioventricular valves (AV valves) between
  atria and ventricles
• Bicuspid (Mitral) valve (left)
• Tricuspid valve (right)

• Semilunar valves between ventricle and artery
• Pulmonary semilunar valve between right
  ventricle and pulmonary trunk
• Aortic semilunar valve between left ventricle
  and Aorta

• Valves open as blood is pumped through
• Held in place by chordae tendineae (heart
  strings) anchors valves to ventricular wall
• Close to prevent backflow
