5.. You are my dear child, I love
you and Im delighted with you.
6 If you want to identify me, ask me not where I
live, or what I like to eat, or how I comb my
hair, but ask me what I think I am living for ,
in detail and ask me what I think is keeping me
from living fully the thing I want to live
for. Between these 2 answers you can determine
the identity of any person. The better answer
they have , the more of a person they
are. Thomas Merton
7- Where do I think I am headed?
- What are the questions that are
- challenging me along the way presently?
- What kind of person am I becoming
- as a result of this journey?
- What have I been equipped to accomplish?

9Our relationship with God
10The forming of the soul that it might be a
dwelling place for God is the primary work of
the Christian leader. This is not an add-on, an
option, or a third-level priority. Without this
core activity, one almost guarantees that
she/he will not last in leadership for a
life-time or that what work is accomplished will
become less and less reflective of God's
honour and God's purposes. Gordon MacDonald
11For most of us, the great danger is not that we
will renounce our faith. It is that we will
become so distracted and rushed and preoccupied
that we will settle for a mediocre version of
it. We will just skim our lives instead of
actually living them.
John Ortberg
12SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES
Discipline any activity I can do by direct
effort that will help me to do what I cannot now
do by direct effort. Spiritual discipline any
activity that can help me gain power to live as
Jesus taught and modelled it. John Ortberg

20Self-leadership. Nobody - I mean nobody - can do
this work for us. Every leader has to do this
work alone, and it isnt easy. In fact, because
its such tough work most leaders avoid it. We
would rather try to inspire or control the
behaviour of others than face the rigorous work
of self reflection and inner growth.Bill Hybels
21Emotional self control. The ability to
understand and manage moods and emotions in the
self and others. Daniel Goleman
22- Boundaries for yourself
- open yourself to outside inputs. Open system
- identify where you need fresh input
- be hungry for feedback
- dont define yourself by outcome
- dont be ruled by fear
- dont put off change
- know your weaknesses
- you are in charge of your time and energy
- look for your patterns
Henry Cloud, Boundaries for Leaders.
23- I must be successful in everything I do
- Everyone must accept me
- Everyone must love me
- If I make a mistake I am a total failure
- If I disagree with someone they will not like me
- My value as a person depends on how
- people see me
24 Busyness is not a solution to the problem of
time pressure. It may be helpful to think
of busyness as a disease.
