11Recent news for CINC
- Recipient of a Federal Broadband Grant totaling
11.5 million. This was grant was applied for by
CINC through UW Extension. (Press Release PDF) - The grant will add more than 200 miles of
fiber-optic cable and 1,300 square miles of
wireless (WIMax) coverage for the Chippewa
Valley. - We are one of five communities around the state
receiving grants which totaled 32 million for the
state of Wisconsin.
12What this grant means for CFSD?
- Continued improvements for our existing
infrastructure. - Continued cost savings
- Use of a WiMax wireless signal within our
educational community. Use to bridge the digital
divide?
13What have we learned?
- We have and will continue to have substantial
savings as a school district. - We are collaborating with other partners within
our communities to share resources and costs.
Relationships are built. - Control and flexibility.
