    list of controversial school/educational or
    teen issues about which you have a particularly
    strong opinion.
  • What kinds of topics do you think evoke a strong
    and distinct reaction from you and your peers?
  • For Example
  • No pass, no play  UIL rules
  • Cell phones in school

Editorials
  1. Read the informational text How to Read an
    Editorial on page 140 of your SpringBoard book.
  2. As you read, mark the text to highlight important
    information from the passage.
  3. In the margins of the page, write the three most
    important pieces of information you found within
    the text.

  • Read the unsigned editorial Facing Consequences
    at Eden Prairie High on pages 142-143 of your
    SpringBoard book.
  • As you read, fill in the graphic organizer on
    page 141 for the eight prompts/questions on the
    previous page.

    rhetorical choices.
  • Then, respond to the following question
