Transformations

• Transformation an operation that maps or moves
  a figure onto a new figure.
• Types of transformations
• - translation slide/shift
• - reflection mirror image
• - rotation turn
• Image the new figure that is produced from a
  transformation
• Preimage the original image before it was
  translated
• Isometry a transformation that preserves length
  and angle measure (creating congruent figures)

Finding a pre-image

• The image of (x,y) ? (x 4, y 7) is
  with endpoints P(-3,4) and Q(2,1). Find the
  coordinates of the coordinates of the endpoints
  of the preimage.
