rebellion. What do you think happened? Did the
rebels win?

    But remembercolonies are not the only kind of
    imperialism
  • Europeans traded with China. Sold opium from
    India and purchased tea from China.
  • Internal rebellion and war with Japan politically
    and militarily weakened China.
  • European countries quickly moved to carve out
    coastal spheres of influence.
