Iowa Infrastructure Projects

• Connection of a town to regional rural water
  system
• Town College Springs, population 246. 65
  LMA. The Cities water supply contained high
  nitrates and was under DNR administrative order
  to abandon their existing wells.
• Funding 238,530 CDBG grant and 118,252
  USDA-RD loan and grant
• Rates 23/month. Potentially 35 with no grant
  funding
• Project installation of 13,500 LF of pipe and
  apparatus to connect town to existing rural water
  line. Separately from the project ,the City
  decided to franchise their system to rural water
  to avoid further maintenance on their lines.
• Sanitary Sewer Installation in an unsewered
  community
• Town Superior, population 142. 61 LMA. Homes
  in the community either had no septic systems or
  failing septic systems
• Funding 142,000 CDBG grant and 1,145,000
  USDA-RD loan and grant
• Rates 50/month. Potentially 62 with no grant
  funding
• Project Construction of a low pressure septic
  tank effluent pump (STEP). Waste is collected in
  a two-compartment septic tank at each residence
  and then effluent is pumped into a common force
  main and pumped to the town of Esterville 6 miles
  away.
