Policy Options Prenatal Care

1. Use Medicaid "family planning waivers" to provide
   inter-conception care coverage.
2. Build from Medicaid to provide a more
   comprehensive approach to preconception care
3. Promote and support quality improvement on
   prenatal and preconception care through
   public-private partnership
4. Facilitate OB-child health communication through
   incentives, expectations, reimbursement
5. Collect, report and reward clinicians based on
   quality of prenatal and preconception care
6. Improve coordination with community resources to
   help at-risk women get needed care (smoking
   cessation, mental health)
