Addition of Integers

• When adding integers-----if both numbers have the
  same sign then you will add the numbers and keep
  the same sign as the numbers in the problem.
• When the signs are different then you will
  subtract the numbers (see next slide for the
  rules of subtracting integers).

Subtraction of Integers

• When subtracting integers-----if both numbers
  are negative, then you will add both numbers and
  the answer is always negative.
• When subtracting integers-----if the signs are
  different, then you will subtract the two numbers
  and you will keep the sign of the largest number
  in the problem.

Multiplication of Integers

• When the sign of the numbers being multiplied are
  the same-------multiply the numbers--The sign of
  the answer is positive
• When the sign of the numbers being multiplies are
  different-------multiply the numbers--The sign of
  the answer is negative
