  • They produced the finest wool
  • in Europe
  • Wool industry thrived

Middle Class
  • A whole new class of people emerged
  • Merchants grew rich.
  • They entered the gentry.
  • They developed their own literature, songs drama
    and ballads.
  • Mystery and miracle plays, which were
    dramatizations of Biblical stories, were acted
    out in courtyards and inn yards.

  • First national war against France
  • Yeoman were green-clad archers who shot 3 foot
    arrows with the longbow.
  • These arrows could pierce the armor of the
    knights.
  • Knights in shining armor no longer represented
    England.
  • Longbows and gun powder ended the Medieval Time
    Period.

  • Bubonic plague was one of the many plagues that
    swept through Europe.
  • It killed more than 1/3 of the population
  • Created a labor shortage
  • This lack of labor ended feudalism

War of the Roses
  • Civil war in England between the House of York
    and House of Lancaster
  • Each house wanted to rule England
  • It ended when Henry VII united the families by
    marrying Elizabeth.
  • Henry VII founded the Tudor Line of kings.
