• Use Computer Scanner equipment to assist in
  diagnosing medical problem
• Prepare patients for scanner procedure
• Position the patients
• Maintain the equipment
• Responsible for following strict protocols for
  protection against harmful radiation

Area of Specialization- CT Technician

• CT Technician tend to be generalists, but may
  specialize in certain populations ( Children,
  elderly, and Animals)

WORKING ENVIROMENT

• Most work in a large hospital
• Medical School and University
• Diagnostic Imaging Centers
• Usually work 40 hours weeks and day shift.
• May work nights

Length of Training

• Training from 1 to 2 years
• Many require student to become a RTs first
• Awarded an AA degree and Certification

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

• To work in TX- must be licensed with the DSHS
• Graduated from an accredited education program
• Pass the DSHS exam
• Must take CE each year to maintain
  certification and license

• Only Bachelor Degree in U.S.
• Allow to read X-ray after complete this program
