• This session results from discussions at last
  years conference and from AIF discussions.
• The purpose is to dialogue among US/TAG leaders
  present on how they handle issues common across
  US/TAGs.
• AIF members provided four suggested topic areas
• US/TAG membership recruitment
• US/TAG member comment resolution
• US/TAG membership/participation fees
• US/TAG document distribution and communications.

ESTABLISHING EFFECTIVE US/TAG PARTICIPATION

• How do US/TAG leaders identify the right US
  interests that should be involved?
• Does your US/TAG do any special outreach to
  under-represented stakeholder categories?
• How do your US/TAG leaders convince companies and
  other interests of the value of active
  participation?
• Does your US/TAG provide any incentives to ensure
  participation? (Reduced fees, travel funding)?

RESOLUTION OF CONFLICTING US/TAG MEMBER COMMENTS

• Are you often confronted with conflicting US/TAG
  member comments requiring resolution?
• Do the conflicts tend to occur between or within
  stakeholder groups?
• Do international voting deadlines impede the time
  needed to resolve conflicting comments? Is there
  ample time for recirculation ballots to confirm
  positions?
• What mechanisms do you use to resolve comments?
• Do you ever employ the option to abstain due to
  lack of national consensus?

US/TAG PARTICIPATION FEES

• US/TAG participation fees are not prohibited, but
  they should not be a burden to any interested
  party and waivers must be allowed for justified
  cases (ANSI policy).
• How do different US/TAGs fund themselves and
  their operations?
• Does your US/TAG have a participation or
  membership fee?
• Are certain rights or privileges contingent on
  payment of a fee (e.g., international leadership
  roles or WG expert positions)?
