We learnt the following terms
IMPROPER FRACTIONS An improper fraction is just
a fraction where the numerator (the top number)
is greater than or equal to the denominator (the
bottom number).

Convert Improper fractions to Mixed Numbers
You can convert an improper fraction into a mixed
fraction and vice-versa to show the same amount.
To convert from an improper fraction to a mixed
number, the following steps are to be followed
STEP 1 Divide the numerator by the
denominator. STEP 2 Write down the whole
number (quotient). STEP 3 Place the
remainder over the denominator.

Convert Mixed Numbers to Improper fractions
To convert from a mixed number to an improper
fraction, the following steps are to be followed
STEP 1 Take the mixed number and multiply the
denominator by the whole number
STEP 2 Then add the numerator to that answer.
STEP 3 Put your new number over the denominator.
STEP 4 The denominator just stays the same.

Today we will discuss the relation
between Fractions, decimals, percents
  • Fraction is a number that names part of a whole
or part of a group. The numerator (the top) is
the PART, the denominator (the bottom) is the
    WHOLE.
  • Decimal A number that uses place value and a
decimal point to show tenths, hundredths and the
    thousandths.
  • Percent is based on the number in terms of 100.
"Percent" is actually "per cent", meaning "out of
    a hundred".

Converting Between Decimal to Fraction
The given decimal number is 0.25.
STEP 1
Count the decimal places of the decimal starting
from the decimal point.

STEP 2
If there is one decimal place, place the number
over 10 and reduce. Or/else If there are two
decimal places, place the number over 100 and
reduce.
