  • They will then be given the outcome based on
    their decision.
  • The outcome of their decision will be given and a

The Scenario
  • You go into Finish Line at the Dayton Mall. The
employees seem to ignore you. You are waiting to
try on shoes and are carrying around one of the
new Nikes for which you saved all your allowance.
Still, no customer service. You are getting
angry. There are plenty of people working who are
just standing around doing nothing. What do you
    do?

7
Your choices
  • A. You throw the shoe down in the middle of the
aisle and storm out of the store.
  • B. You walk to the counter and politely say,
Could someone help me try on a pair of shoes?
  • C.You go up to the counter and proceed to cuss
out the employees for ignoring you.
  • D. You leave the store to find your brothers to
come back with you to threaten the employees for
    disrespecting you like that.

8
The Outcome of Your Choice
  • You chose C.You go up to the counter and proceed
to cuss out the employees for ignoring you.
  • The outcome The employee proceeds to call
security who comes immediately. You are taken to
a back room where they question you and make you
call home. The store employee is debating whether
    or not to press charges.

9
The Next Step
  • After choice and discussion, the students, in
groups, will be required to use the internet to
find similar situations and outcomes like the
    scenario they were given.
  • In their groups, they will present their
headline news and the real outcome.
  • When each group has presented, the class will
discuss and reflect on their own decisions and
    outcomes.

10
Debriefing Questions
  • How did you feel about the scenario? Is it a real
    life event for you?
  • After you learned the consequence of your choice,
would you choose differently next time?
  • Did you have trouble choosing or did you know
    your decision immediately?
  • Do you feel your actions will change or will you
think before you act if ever put in this position?
