• It has a high profile and is one of the leading
  brand names in the Arabian sub-continent,
  supplying consumers with milk, laban, yoghurt,
  juice, butter, cheese, cream and dairy desserts.
• Almarai began operations in Saudi Arabia in 1976
  and continue grown until this moment .
• The company's headquarters are based in Riyadh,
  the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and
  the Almarai company extends throughout the
  Arabian Peninsula, leading and influencing the
  Agricultural, Dairy Processing and Food
  Distribution Industries.

The Begin Of The ERP System

• They start thinking of ERP since 1997.
• Baan is the first movement to ERP life.
• Baan is a small solution to do accounting.
• Day after day , they find Baan is less than what
  they expect.
• NO development.
• NO new modules.
• Almarai is grown up faster than Baan.

• Baan based in Related Excel Files.
• One of the Excel files is more than 300 MB !
• Baan was Cost 2 million Rayals in 1997.
• Every one has a complete access to Excel Files !
• Open file take more than 7 min !

Time to Change!

• In 2001 , they Start to thinking , to move to a
  new Solution for ERP system.
• IT department
• Two Choices of the new ERP system
• Oracle
• SAP

How They chose

• Make a document that contains all the system
  requirements offered by the old solution ( RFP )
  .
• Oracle and SAP make a demo for the new system.
• Oracle and SAP make a presentation for the
  features of their solutions.
• How easy move from old system to the new one.
• And the choice was going to ????

New System

• Not a lot of modifications for the system.
• SAP was directly involved in implementing the
  system , not by an approved vendor.
• The IT manager is a big fan of SAP solution.
• It costs a 26 million Rayals.
• Using step by step ( Block approach ) to
  implement the system.

Challenges

• The most challenges was
• People.
• Transfer old data to the new System.
• And they solve it by
• Convince the employees by Comparing between the
  old system and the new one and show the new
  features.
