  embarrassing defeats but Alexander refused. He
  announced his plan to take over all of Persia.

• In 332 b.c.e, Alexander was seen as a liberator
  in Egypt. They loved him and crowned him pharaoh.

• In Babylon, Alexander fell suddenly ill
• As he lay dying, the people asked him who should
  leadhe whispered, the best
• Competition for power and division of land
  started immediately following his death

  culture, primarily through trade and conquest.
• Founded many new cities
• Hellenistic Civilization- blending of Greek,
  Persian, Egyptian, and Indian cultures.
