I decanati di Manchester
  • Manchester Diocese is made up of three
    Archdeaconries Manchester, Bolton and Rochdale.
Each Archdeaconry is made up of a number of
Deaneries and the Deaneries contain the churches
    within each Parish.

Il Bolton Aquarium
  • Bolton Aquarium is one of the oldest public
aquaria in the UK and has been a popular
attraction since it opened in January 1941. There
are now over three generations of people from
Bolton and beyond who remember the aquarium as
    part of their childhood.
  • Some of these people are now bringing their own
children and grandchildren to learn more about
life in the world under water. As the aquarium
is licensed as a zoo, all of the inhabitants
receive an extremely high standard of care.

Bury
  • Bury Metropolitan Borough Council has 51
Councillors representing 17 wards, each ward
    having three Councillors. Councillors are
democratically elected on a four year cycle and
their role is to represent the views of local
people and direct the policy of the council. The
    administration of Bury Metropolitan Borough
Council is headed by the Chief Executive
supported by a management team made up of the
heads of major service areas. Whilst Bury
Metropolitan Borough Council operates a range of
services across the borough the main
administrative centre is the Town Hall which is
situated on Knowsley Street near Bury town
    centre.

Wigan
  • The Wigan Borough has been split into ten areas
and each area is called a Township. Each Township
has a manager and a co-ordinator and their role
is to work with Councillors and local residents
to develop more opportunities for local people to
have a say about their area. Each of the Township
areas also has a Forum. The Forum is made up of a
    number of agencies, organisations, local
Councillors and local groups. Township Forums are
responsible for producing local action plans that
reflect the long-term vision for the future of
the Township area. The action plans are based
around eight themes community safety, economy,
    education, environment, health, leisure and
    recreation, neighbourhood development and traffic
and transport. These plans detail what the Forum
feels are important issues for the Township.
Township Staff work closely with the Forums in a
supporting and advising role and to encourage
improvements in services where needed. To find
out more about your Township and have your say on

Colne
  • Colne is an ancient market town steeped in
history (parts of the parish church date back to
the 11th century).  Birthplace of Wallace Hartley
(band master on the Titanic) and home of The
Great British RB Festival.  Colne, along with
Nelson, were at the heart of the Lancashire
