MCCPIS MISSION
  • To serve as the States advocate for the
    development of crime prevention initiatives
    throughout the state within both the public and
    private sector.

MCCPI OBJECTIVES
  • -To increase public awareness of the crime
    problem and crime prevention methods citizens can
    utilize to reduce their chances of victimization
  • -To facilitate the commitment and cooperative
    involvement of law enforcement agencies, elected
    officials, community groups, and citizens in
    crime prevention activities

MCCPI OBJECTIVES
  • -To assist the above-mentioned groups and
    individuals in the development of uniform,
    consistent, and effective crime prevention
    programming
  • -To provide support for crime prevention training
    programs for law enforcement officers and
    relevant business and community groups
  • -To administer the annual Governors Crime
    Prevention Awards Program

MCCPI OBJECTIVES
  • -To support the activities of the Maryland Crime
    Prevention Association and to assist with these
    activities whenever possible
  • -To support the activities and programs of the
    National Citizens Crime Prevention Campaign
    (NCCPC) and to encourage local participation in
    these programs
  • -To serve as a Resource Center for crime
    prevention information in Maryland and

MCCPI OBJECTIVES
  • -To administer the State D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse
    Resistance Education) Program.
  • D.A.R.E. is a drug abuse and violence prevention
    program that uses uniformed police officers to
    present info to children in the classroom.
  • MCCPI provides Officer Training
  • In-Service Training Review and Evaluation and
    Technical Assistance.
