3 step reading

• Make notes on what is there.
• Now try to explain the effect various signs have
  on you.
• Then try to explain the effect the same signs may
  have on someone very different from you.

  into something else

Task One

• Look at the your image. Analyse the image in the
  way we did last lesson
• Denotation what is in the image? What is it
  for? (Its purpose)
• What technical codes have been used?
• What is the effect on the viewer/consumer-
  connotations?
• What messages and values are being communicated
  to the audience? e.g representation of women?
  Stereotypes?

Cropping task

• Decide which part of the image you are going to
  select.
• Stick onto sheet of A4 of your own
• In pairs brainstorm (you must have individual
  brainstorms) ideas for a new text using that
  image
• Write the ideas around the image

Plan

• On A4 paper draw a rough draft for the layout of
  your new text. Explain what package you will use
  on the computer and where you will find extra
  pictures if needed
• Show me/John so that you can begin the work on
  the computer

Objectives

• To be able to crop your image in order to change
  the meaning
• To be able to create a new text based on the image

• You will use your saved image, select and
  deselect the sections that you want in your new
  text
• You will begin to create that new text
