  • The policy by which strong nations extend their
    political, military, and economic control over
    weaker territories.
  • Imperialism was popular in Europe who
    imperialized parts of Asia and Africa.
  • The U.S. wanted a part of this new phenomenon.

    markets for excess goods!

    based on the idea that countries with greater
    naval power will have greater worldwide impact)
