I. Slavery and Deliverance

• -Many people are spiritually enslaved by bad
  situations such as
• -poverty
• -prejudices
• -addictions
• -violence
• -or materialism

• -such enslavements prevent people from living
  in
• peace
• happiness
• and love

• 1. became slaves to the Egyptian Pharaoh.
• -he forced them to build cities and work in
  fields.
• 2. Moses was sent from God to help the
  Israelites escape from slavery.

• a. How Moses knew he was the leader
• 1. God spoke to him through a burning bush.
• -at the bush, God revealed an important mystery
  He had not revealed to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, or
  Joseph.
• -God told him His most sacred name, YAHWEH.

  acts of God.

B. A Question about Everlasting Life

• -everlasting life only children of God can
  enter the kingdom of Heaven.
• they not need to marry and no longer die,
  but will rise again.
• -God is not the God of the dead but the living.

C. Old Testament vs. New Testament

• 1. Old Testament is filled with signs of Gods
  love and faithfulness.

• 2. New Testament tells of Gods greatest act of
  love
• a. Send His Son to save all people.
• b. Jesus suffered and died for our sins, no
  matter how great.
• c. Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into
  heaven.

• 3. Because of Jesus Christ, people do not have to
  be afraid of death.
• Death leads to everlasting life and everlasting
  happiness if we love God and others as Jesus
  taught.
