Thesis Advisory Committee
  • Consists of at least three members (direct
    supervisor and two or more expert scientists)
  • Purpose of the TAC
  • monitor progress of the students work
  • advise the student regarding the development of
    the research project
  • assist the student in aspects of career planning
    and networking
  • The thesis advisory committee will determine,
    together with the direct supervisor, the time
    point when a student is ready to write up his or
    her doctoral thesis.

floor, office hours Monday until Thursday, 900

documents - originals and copies of your
university qualifying documents - german or
english translation of your documents - the
Bestätigung Doktorvater - Proof of making a
Master thesis - Proofs of the duration of your
study

To close up your PhD study you have to be
enrolled at the LMU for at least two (max. six)
semesters as a PhD student of biology. How to

once in the organization of the retreat (incl.
invitation of speakers)

Thesis Advisory Committee
You should -assemble your TAC in cooperation
with your supervisor (till end of
year!) -arrange a first meeting within six
months after starting your studies Scope of
project, impact, feasibility and associated risk
should be discussed by the committee in the
initial meeting. -Organize the follow up
meetings (should take place at least once a year)
During PhD, you should have attended four TAC
meetings
