The Atlantic Beach Experimental
Theater(ABET) brings the excitement of live
theater to diverse audiences. An emphasis is
placed on new and original plays, neglected
classics, and on developing new talent. It
was formed in 1992 by Carson Merry Baillie and
three drama graduates who had taken her drama
workshop. ABET is a not-for-profit theatre,
supported by the City of Jacksonville through the
Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville, The Tom
Nehl Fund of the Community Foundation, other
private foundations and individual donors.
If you havent already done so, this is a
reminder to make your hotel reservations for
the Kiwanis International Convention before

DIVISION COUNCIL MEETING  MAY 17, 2007
Despite heavy rains, winds and hail storms braved
by many Kiwanis Division 5 attendees, our Jax
Beaches contingent enjoyed good weather and a
pleasant drive to and from Fernandina  Beach last
Thursday evening. Jax Beaches members John Bates,
Carl Krouch, Dick Brand, Al Russ, Leigh Roberts,
Ed Robinson-and Myrtle, Charlie Bender-and Wanda,
and Bill Montgomery-and Lea represented our club.
A great buffet (at a great price), a Division 5
activity update, and a surprise entertainment
feature all made this an interesting and
enjoyable get-together for all. All of you
should try to make the next DCM. You'll be glad
you did!
