places of the epic Beowulf, what do those sounds
tell us about the Anglo-Saxons? Make a prediction
about what you think Beowulf is going to be
about.

Characteristics of an Epic
  • Copy the following in your spiral notebook
  • Epics from different languages and time periods
    share many of the same characteristics,
    including
  • -The hero, generally a male, is of noble birth
    or high position and of great historical or
    legendary importance.
  • -The heros character traits reflect important
    ideals of his society.
